We encourage everyone to have a regular eye test. Adults and children every year, unless advised otherwise by your optometrist. Eye exams are very important as not only they look at your eye health, they can detect signs of other medical conditions which a lot of the time can show no symptoms. We provide an Enhanced Eye examination which includes the OCT scan on all patients over the age of 25 and an Optomap 200 degree retinal image on everyone. This is a more comprehensive test than the regular examinations you may have had elsewhere.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations or missed appointments without at least 48hrs notice will be charged at the full eye examination fee of £100. 48hrs does not give us enough time to fill in that slot with another patient who could have benefited from our services. Failure to make payment 7days post cancellation or missed appointment will be passed on to debt collection agencies and any fees or interest applied will be added.
An Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) scan helps us to look deeper into the health of the eye. The scan creates an image which shows us different layers and structure within the eye which is not detectable with a normal picture of the back of the eye. We can detect certain eye conditions up to 4 years earlier with an OCT scan. This is something our Optometrists do on ALL patients over the age of 25 as we believe everyone deserves this level of care.
The Optomap provides us with a 200 degree image of the retina, allowing us to see over 91% of the fundus vs 15% on your generic retinal photography. This allows us to uncover 42% more pathology! Only around 100 Opticians in the country have this piece of equipment!
You wouldn't go to the Dentist and only have your two front teeth checked would you? So let us see more together!
We provide a range of myopia control options for children. An estimation of five billion people or half the global population, could be affected by myopia by the year 2050. When myopia is increased by 1Dioptre, there is a 58% increased chance of future eye-related disease.
Myopia control is becoming a daily conversation with parents. The options range from myopia control spectacle lenses and contact lenses. All our Optometrists & Dispensing Opticians are qualified in this treatment, any questions just ASK.
One of the main benefits of wearing contact lenses is the freedom and comfort they provide. Choosing to use contact lenses will open up a host of different options, even for children. At ASK we have contact lenses to suit everyone’s needs, whether it’s for a special event, daily use, playing sports or holidays.
We believe when you walk into an opticians you can get overwhelmed with frames scattered on shelves. Choosing a pair of glasses can be a stressful experience, knowing you will be wearing them everyday! Here at ASK Opticians, we sit you down, offer you a hot drink and bring the glasses to you.
Your prescription, facial features, lifestyle and personality is taken into account before we dispense. There are hundreds of frames in stock, not just the few we have on display. We have a wide range of luxury independent eyewear ranging from £200 and we compliment these with bespoke lenses from £220.
Our professionally trained staff will allow you to experience the art of dispensing like you have never before. Bookings can be made with our dispensing opticians and in-house frame stylists!
